Heres how gearing works. the bigger the front gear and the smaller the back gear the faster you will go. standard gearing is 44 teeth in front and 16 in back. on your particular bike i dont know how big a sprocket you can run on the front but i have seen them up to 50t. On the rear rim i believe they go as low as 9t. to run certain gears though you may have to change your rear rim once you get so small because you have to have a 1pc driver or even a cog setup.
I dont know why you would buy a diamondback…but anyway get a 45 tooth(or if the guy on top is correct get a 50).
While you pass through your ages and stages in growth and wisdom, you will find larger bikes more better for going more better faster.
